Brother LS-1217b
This was a weekend find at our local thrift store. It was untested, did not have a pedal, but it did have the box and instructions.
Believe it or not, the machine once cleaned and after we found a pedal that would work, the machine is quiet and runs very well. The same type of simple machine made by rival Singer is loud and clunky. This one is not. I found it to be enjoyable. Although one stitch did make the machine jump all over the table, and that was the wide Zig Zag. As long as you hold onto it, it will work through this problem.
It is a simple machine that only has the basic stitches. Straight and zig zag. it has reverse but it does not have a buttonhole feature.
One thing everyone should know is that using Goof Off (the product that takes off tape and things)... Do not use this product on plastic. As shown below. Not just a good idea.
You can really see how it messed up the bed in the first pic and in the second in the corners it is also melted.
The pedal was added. My puppy had used this as a chew toy and I never knew about it, so, we had to fix it. It is done pretty well, but not pro work.
Here is the back images of the machine . It has a great little built in handle that is very convenient.
And it also shows you the correct way to thread the machine and the bobbin winder , right on the machine!
